Cremation Services

When a Death Occurs

If a death occurs at a hospital or nursing home, the facility staff will notify us upon your request. For deaths that occur at home, please notify your family doctor. If the deceased had not received care from a physician, someone will need to contact the County Coroner.

Upon notification, our team will promptly arrange to bring your loved one into our care. Birdsong Cremations will contact you immediately if we haven't spoken with you. We want to introduce ourselves and answer your all your cremation questions. We are available 24 hours a day to provide immediate support and assistance.

Cremation Options

Completing simple cremation arrangements with Birdsong involves several steps. During a meeting with your family, either in the comfort of your home or at our office, we will guide you through every decision. We listen to your family's needs and your loved one's story to provide a personalized and meaningful service.

One of the first steps is gathering information for the death certificate. This includes:

  • Name of the deceased
  • Age and date of birth
  • Place of birth
  • Social Security Number
  • Occupation and industry
  • Education level
  • Marital status and name of spouse
  • Names of parents
  • Relationship to the next of kin

After gathering this information, we can assist you in writing an online obituary that honors your loved one. You can share the obituary online or with local or out-of-town newspapers to notify friends and family. The obituary typically includes:

  • Surviving spouse and date of marriage
  • Educational background
  • Career highlights
  • Membership in organizations, clubs, or hobbies
  • Personal details, such as favorite pastimes or accomplishments
  • Names of surviving family members

We understand that writing an obituary can be difficult, as there are many memories and important moments to include. We’re here to guide you through the process and help ensure that your tribute reflects your loved one’s legacy.

Planning the Service

At Birdsong Cremations, we take pride in helping families plan personalized and meaningful memorial services. We dedicate ourselves to ensuring that it serves as a suitable homage to the life of your loved one.

We can help make the funeral service more personal. This can include adding photo tributes and favorite music. We can also include pets and other meaningful items. Our team feels honored to help you create a ceremony that reflects the uniqueness of your loved one.
